Eagle Scouts of Troop 2220:
Josh – May 18, 2022
Josh earned his Eagle rank on May 18, 2022. As of that date Josh had earned 42 merit badges and held numerous troop/leadership positions including Librarian, Bugler, Quartermaster, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. Josh currently serves as Junior Assistant Scout Master at the request of Scout Master Nelson.
Josh has attended every Scout Sunday and Scouting for Food weekend that he was available for. He successfully completed all four of the Religious Emblem Programs. His goal from his very first meeting was to attend EVERY monthly campout and he has succeeded in attended almost every one of them. He successfully completed the National Youth Leadership Training program in 2019 and attended National Jamboree in 2017. He embraced the Philmont Scout Ranch experience in 2019 and sailed through his Sea Base High Adventure in June 2022.
Josh actively participates in the Order of the Arrow program, where he has reached Brotherhood rank and earned the distinguished Shark’s Tooth award for outstanding service. He looks forward to performing the role of Kichkineet in the Ordeal ceremonies as the Order welcomes new Arrowmen to the program.
The Boy Scouts of America program has allowed Josh to develop a strong self-confidence. His Eagle project afforded Josh an insight into the challenges and skills needed to be an effective leader. In addition, it taught him how to effectively communicate with partners, vendors, and management. He will carry these newly developed skills into everything that is ahead of him, to college – to life.
Brock – June 22, 2022
Brock earned his Eagle rank on June 22, 2022, becoming Troop 2220’s second Eagle Scout. As of that date Brock had earned 42 merit badges and held numerous leadership positions in the troop including Assistant Patrol Leader, Bugler, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Instructor. Brock currently serves as a Junior Assistant Scout Master.
Brock’s Scouting journey began in the 1 st grade, when he joined Pack 129 in Centreville, Maryland as a Tiger Cub. He later transitioned to Pack 1425 in Stafford, and eventually completed Arrow of Light and crossed to Troop 516. As a Scout with Troops 516 and 2220, he attended every Scout Sunday and Scouting for Food weekend that he was available for. He successfully completed the God and Church and God and Life Religious Emblems programs. He completed the Senior Patrol Leader track of Bear Claw Leadership Training. Brock has logged over 100 nights of camping and earned the National Outdoor Achievement Award for Camping. Brock is a proud member of the Order of the Arrow. He is looking forward to his first high adventure experience in summer 2023 as a member of the T2220 Philmont Crew.
Outside of Scouting, Brock is a senior at Brooke Point High School, where he is captain of the Varsity Cheer Competition Squad. He plans to pursue a degree in physics and would like to someday enjoy a career in the field of astrophysics.
